Meet Your Teachers

Yohan Ntoné Epée

Jubilee Ntoné Epée

Yohan & Jubilee Ntoné Epée together have led choral and instrumental ensembles and taught thousands of private music lessons and classes over the years to students ranging from one to eighty-years-old, including those with unique challenges such as visual and audio impairments, Muscular Dystrophy, behavioral and attention diagnosis, Autism, Dementia and severe anxiety.

They also serve a very diverse group of students from upwards of thirty ethnicities. The Ntoné Epées have lived in four continents, and between them are fluent in French, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, and of course English. In their experience, they’ve found that few things express and bridge cultures better than the language of music.

With a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Master’s in Education Administration, Jubilee loves drawing out life skills training through music.

While in medical school, Yohan took to the piano for his favorite use of time outside of the rigor of studies—proving that it is possible to cultivate both the Sciences and the Arts and doesn’t have to be “either/or”. He enjoys helping his students to discover their strengths and to develop the self-discipline to accomplish their goals.

Yohan & Jubilee are teachers at heart and love celebrating small wins while they are ever conscious of the bigger picture, scope and sequence of the student’s overall progress and development.

Music is just a tool for the things that matter most in life—the heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. And thus, the word ‘Tehillah’ best represents the school’s vision: it is the Hebrew word for a spontaneous song overflowing from a heart of thanks.

“Among our very favorite aspects of teaching music is first, establishing rapport with each individual student. No child wants to dread music lessons every week, and no parent wants to drag them there! We love getting to know our students and studying what motivates them. We find incredible fulfillment in inspiring others to achieve great things!

Second, we thoroughly enjoy guiding our students through overcoming obstacles of all kinds. Whatever your challenge, that becomes our assignment! Instead of shying away from problems, we want our students to grow to confront them head-on with discretion and confidence. That look on a student’s face when they can actually do what they thought was nearly impossible—you just can’t put a price on that!”
