Jubilee Ntoné Epée has taught thousands of private music lessons and classes over the years to students ranging from one to eighty-years-old, including those with unique challenges such as visual and audio impairments, Muscular Dystrophy, behavioral and attention diagnosis, Autism, Dementia and severe anxiety.
She also serves a very diverse group of students from upwards of thirty ethnicities. Jubilee has lived abroad and found that few things express and bridge cultures better than the language of music. She loves celebrating small wins while she is ever conscious of the bigger picture, scope and sequence of the student’s overall progress and development.
“Music is just a tool for the things that matter most in life—the heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. And thus, the word ‘Tehillah’ best represents the school’s vision: it is the Hebrew word for a spontaneous song of joy overflowing from a heart of thanks.”
With a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Master’s in Education Administration, Jubilee is a teacher at heart and loves drawing out life skills training through music.
“Among my very favorite aspects of teaching music is first, establishing rapport with each individual student. No child wants to dread music lessons every week, and no parent wants to drag them there! I love getting to know my students and studying what motivates them. (Fun fact—I was voted “Most Inspirational Player” by teammates on both high school and college athletic teams and still find incredible satisfaction in inspiring others to achieve great things!)
Second, I thoroughly enjoy guiding my students through overcoming obstacles of all kinds. Whatever your challenge, that becomes our assignment! Instead of shying away from problems, I want my students to grow to confront them head-on with discretion and confidence. That look on a student’s face when they can actually do what they thought was nearly impossible—you just can’t put a price on that!”
